Crypto.com is cutting 12% of its global workforce-approximately 180 employees-as it pivots to enterprise-wide artificial intelligence. CEO Kris Marszalek confirmed the move aligns with the February 9 launch of ai.com, the firm’s new AI agent platform.
The company also became the first crypto exchange to earn ISO/IEC 42001:2023 certification for AI management systems-a benchmark for responsible AI governance.

A spokesperson stated layoffs reflect a strategic reallocation toward “key growth areas,” declining to specify affected roles. The move follows similar AI-driven reductions at Messari, Algorand Foundation, Block, Pinterest, Atlassian, and Meta.
