DoorDash is integrating stablecoin payment infrastructure via the Tempo blockchain, allowing users, its delivery drivers ('dashers'), and merchants to conduct transactions using digital currency. This move aims to improve payout speed, lower cross-border transaction costs, and offer greater flexibility. DoorDash co-founder Andy Wang stated that faster, more affordable transactions are a significant benefit for the entire ecosystem.

The partnership with Tempo is part of a broader industry trend, with other major payment players like Stripe, Paradigm, Coastal Bank, and ARQ also involved in expanding stablecoin infrastructure. This represents a substantial adoption of digital asset payment rails for everyday settlements by a major delivery platform. In the fourth quarter of 2025, DoorDash facilitated 903 million orders valued at $29.7 billion.
