Binance has completed the transition from Toncoin to Gram. Deposits and withdrawals for the GRAM token became available on July 2nd.
The rebrand was decided by a community governance vote on June 8th, with over 81% of participants in favor. This restores the original name from Telegram's 2018 whitepaper, which was abandoned after legal disputes with the SEC.
The change is cosmetic. The underlying blockchain, The Open Network (TON), remains unchanged. All wallet addresses and smart contracts were unaffected. Binance automatically converted all user-held TON tokens to GRAM at a 1:1 ratio.
The move strengthens the brand connection to Telegram, which has nearly a billion users and is integrating TON-based payments and apps. GRAM is currently trading around $1.60, with a market capitalization of approximately $4.3 billion.
