The New York Stock Exchange, part of Intercontinental Exchange, has partnered with Securitize to build a tokenized securities platform. Securitize will serve as the first eligible digital transfer agent for corporate and ETF issuers on the upcoming NYSE-affiliated Digital Trading Platform.

NYSE will work with Securitize as a design partner to develop a digital transfer agent program for blockchain-based trade processing.

Tokenization converts traditional assets-like stocks and bonds-into secure, programmable digital tokens on a decentralized ledger. The move follows the SEC’s recent approval of Nasdaq’s proposal to enable tokenized stock trading and settlement.

"As we explore how tokenization can enhance capital markets, it is critical that new infrastructure is developed in a way that preserves the trust, transparency, and protections investors expect," said NYSE President Lynn Martin.

The firms will jointly establish standards for digital transfer agents, covering regulatory compliance, operations, and institutional-grade technology.
