Air Passenger Duty (APD) increases take effect in the UK on 1 April 2026.

Economy passengers flying long-haul to Band C destinations-including Australia, Japan, Thailand, and New Zealand-will pay £106, up from £94. Higher-class travellers face £253, up from £224. Private jet users will pay £1,141-up 70% from £673.

Band B destinations like the United States, UAE, and Maldives see economy APD rise to £102; premium class to £244; private jets to £1,097.

Band A destinations-EU, EEA, Canary Islands, Monaco-see modest hikes: £15 for economy, £16 for premium, and £142 for private jets.

The Netherlands raised its airfare tax to €30.25. Sweden scrapped its aviation tax in July 2025. Singapore introduces the world’s first green fuel tax on flights this October.
