Bank of America is paying $2.25 million to settle a class-action lawsuit alleging it overcharged customers at ATMs inside 7-Eleven stores.
The lawsuit, filed in 2019, claimed the bank charged two out-of-network fees for a single balance inquiry, breaching its contract with customers.
Eligible customers who used the FCTI-operated ATMs at 7-Eleven between May 1, 2018, and November 16, 2021, may receive a share of the settlement. Those who already received funds from a separate 2024 settlement against FCTI are excluded.
Claims must be filed by July 29. A final court approval is scheduled for August 21.
Bank of America denies any wrongdoing, stating it settled to avoid the expense and uncertainty of continued litigation.
