The Ford government will table its 2026 budget on Thursday afternoon, with Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy warning Ontarians to prepare for "tougher times." The financial plan will detail economic growth expectations, debt management, and policy costs, including housing and Crown corporation operations.

Bethlenfalvy acknowledged the economic struggles of residents, stating, "It’s tough times for people. The cost of everything is very high." He emphasized a focus on affordability and reducing financial burdens.

The budget will include a one-year HST waiver on new homes, price caps on concert and sports tickets, and $325 million for primary care. It also includes tighter transparency rules.
