KraneShares Artificial Intelligence and Technology Public-Private ETF (AGIX) has acquired a $13 million stake in AI company Anthropic. The position, sourced from a February 2025 private funding round, accounts for roughly 1.5% to 2.9% of the fund’s $940 million in assets.
Launched in July 2024, AGIX blends holdings in public giants like NVIDIA and Microsoft with direct equity in private firms such as Anthropic, SpaceX/xAI, and Nuro. With a 0.45% expense ratio, the fund provides daily liquidity and skips the high minimums typical of venture capital.
Since adding Anthropic and xAI, AGIX has outperformed its public benchmark by 8-10%. Anthropic’s valuation now stands at $183 billion, with annual revenue projected to hit $14 billion by early 2026 and a widely expected IPO on the horizon.
For investors seeking pre-IPO AI exposure, AGIX offers a rare, contained path. The modest 3% position limits downside while capturing potential upside from the private-to-public transition.
