Nippon Paint and Sherwin-Williams announced Wednesday they have ended efforts to jointly acquire rival paint maker AkzoNobel. The decision follows AkzoNobel's rejection of their €12.5 billion cash offer last week.
Shares of AkzoNobel, maker of Dulux paint, fell more than 20% in early trading after being halted, on track for their worst-ever session.
