Stripe has reached a $159 billion valuation, bolstered by $1.9 trillion in total payment volume for 2025. This represents a 34% increase from the previous year, equivalent to approximately 1.6% of global GDP.

The company announced the valuation following a new employee liquidity tender, supported by major investors including Thrive Capital, Coatue, and Andreessen Horowitz. Stripe also reported a doubling of stablecoin volume to roughly $400 billion, driven by increased business use and the acquisition of stablecoin infrastructure firm Bridge.

Stripe is expanding beyond core payments into financial software and infrastructure. The company unveiled Tempo, a blockchain designed for high throughput and compliance, currently being tested by major firms like Visa, Nubank, and Shopify.

Furthermore, Stripe is integrating AI into commerce through its "agentic commerce" initiatives. The company partnered with OpenAI to enable shopping within ChatGPT and is collaborating with Microsoft on similar capabilities for Copilot. A new Agentic Commerce Suite aims to standardize AI-driven transactions across platforms.
