Hundreds of thousands of Americans are facing a major cybersecurity breach after Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital, a government-owned healthcare facility in Texas, suffered a significant data incident.

The hospital revealed that an unauthorized party accessed its systems and stole sensitive personal and health data, including names, Social Security numbers, phone numbers, addresses, medical record numbers, and full-face photographs.

According to a filing with Maine’s Attorney General’s office, the breach occurred on January 31, 2026, after a cyber-attack compromised the hospital’s network.

Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital said it immediately notified law enforcement and launched an investigation to secure its systems.

The hospital reported that no misuse of data has been detected yet, but patients are urged to monitor their accounts and report suspicious activity.
