A 24-year-old woman is accused of an elaborate scheme to drain tens of thousands of dollars from Wells Fargo customers in Texas.

Jacquelina Trana Chambliss allegedly posed as a Wells Fargo employee, scamming two account holders out of more than $34,000. Victims reported receiving calls about fraudulent transactions, followed by a woman appearing at their homes claiming to be from Wells Fargo.

She then allegedly cut up their debit cards. One victim lost approximately $20,669, and the other $13,912. Wells Fargo has since reversed the charges and returned the funds.

An investigation revealed the compromised cards were used at local grocery stores. Facial analysis of security footage led authorities to Chambliss. Court documents indicate she has a prior record for similar offenses, including impersonating a Wells Fargo employee to steal funds.
