A Wells Fargo customer successfully recovered $4,400 after unauthorized withdrawals drained her account. Vicki Duffy of New Hope, Pennsylvania, reported multiple charges from an unfamiliar money transfer company. Despite filing a police report and disputing the transactions, Wells Fargo initially denied her fraud claim and rejected her appeal, insisting Duffy had approved the withdrawals.

After seven months of contesting the charges, Duffy sought media assistance. Upon inquiry from a reporter, Wells Fargo reopened her case and reversed the fraudulent charges, fully reimbursing Duffy. The money transfer company later confirmed the charges were fraudulent from their end.
