Wells Fargo has agreed to pay $110 million to settle a lawsuit alleging discriminatory hiring and lending practices.

The settlement, approved by the U.S. District Court in the Northern District of California, includes a $100 million mortgage lending program for low and moderate-income borrowers. The program aims to create a more inclusive housing system and will run for at least three years.

Additionally, the bank's directors and officers' liability insurance will pay $10 million to settle claims that leadership breached their duties regarding the policies.

The case consolidated four related lawsuits in April 2024. The settlement was reached in September 2025 and given preliminary approval in January.
