Researchers analyzed routine-care data from patients with moderate-to-severe chronic hand eczema treated between 2024 and 2025. Twenty-two patients received topical delgocitinib twice daily while a matched group underwent 20-25 sessions of localized cream PUVA therapy.
Clinical response rates proved similar, with 82% of delgocitinib patients achieving clear or almost clear skin compared to 73% in the PUVA group. Quality of life improvements showed numerical advantage for delgocitinib, with 91% experiencing meaningful improvement versus 77% in the PUVA cohort.
The study highlights delgocitinib as an effective alternative to PUVA therapy, with potential advantages in maintaining disease remission for chronic hand eczema patients who cannot tolerate topical corticosteroids.
