A new survey shows British women are among the angriest in Europe, with over one in five reporting feelings of rage. The Hologic Global Women's Health Index, the largest survey of its kind, reveals a significant decline in emotional and physical health since 2020.

The United Kingdom now ranks 48th out of 143 countries in women's health, a steep drop from previous years. In contrast, Germany, Poland, and Latvia rank in the top ten. The data shows 42% of women globally experience daily worry, and 28% report sadness. Women over 60 are the only age group angrier and sadder than they were in 2020.

Experts point to a systemic lack of investment in female health-termed "medical misogyny." A report from the World Economic Forum and Boston Consulting Group found women lose 75 million years of healthy life annually, yet receive just 6% of private healthcare funding.

In the UK, the National Health Service faces specific criticism for gaps in pelvic and menopause care. Only 2% of UK medical research funding went to pregnancy, childbirth, and reproductive health in 2025. As a result, women are turning to online communities like Reddit for support, though these spaces risk spreading misinformation.

Tim Simpson of Hologic says women are demanding earlier diagnosis, faster care, and more innovative technology. Improving women's health, he adds, requires coordinated commitment from policymakers, the NHS, and industry.
