Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed veteran defender Danilo as a near-certain inclusion in the final 26-man squad for the upcoming World Cup in North America.
Ancelotti praised Danilo's character and versatility, stating he can play in all defensive positions. "Danilo is a very important player, not only on the pitch but also off it," he said in Orlando ahead of Brazil's warm-up match against Croatia.
The 34-year-old, currently at Flamengo, has earned 67 caps for Brazil. Ancelotti emphasized the importance of defensive strength, noting that Brazil needs both talent and solid defense to win a sixth World Cup.
Group C includes Morocco, Haiti, and Scotland. The final squad will be announced on May 18.
