AJ Styles’ in-ring career concluded earlier this year with a loss at the Royal Rumble, ending a 'phenomenal' run. He built a massive fan base in TNA before his landmark 2016 WWE debut.
In TNA, Styles was a six-time X-Division champion and a three-time world champion. In WWE, he became a two-time WWE Champion and a three-time United States Champion.
Former TNA colleagues Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, now in WWE as the Motor City Machine Guns, credit Styles for blazing the trail. 'He’s the reason I want to go to the Hall of Fame,' Shelley told Fox News Digital. 'AJ deserves it. He really did blaze that trail of wrestlers to come and join WWE.'
Sabin agreed, stating, 'He absolutely blazed the path for guys like us to make it here. He’s been a leader and a role model.'
Styles will be inducted alongside Stephanie McMahon, Sycho Sid, Bad News Brown, Dennis Rodman, Demolition, and Hulk Hogan's WrestleMania 3 match. The ceremony takes place Friday night at Dolby Live at Park MGM in Las Vegas.
