France’s Alexis Pinturault, 34, will retire at the end of the season, wrapping up a legendary career marked by 34 World Cup victories and three Olympic medals. The overall World Cup champion in 2021, Pinturault’s final race is the giant slalom at the World Cup finals in Hafjell, Norway, on March 24.

A two-time world champion in the men’s combined event, Pinturault also earned silver in 2021 and bronze in 2014 and 2018. He competed through major injuries, including a cruciate ligament rupture in Wengen and a crash in Kitzbühel that required hospitalization.

He did not qualify for France’s team at the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics last month.
