Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani will not make his scheduled start Friday against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The team says the two-way player is dealing with ongoing irritation in his left knee.
Ohtani will also miss the MLB All-Star Game and will not travel to Philadelphia for the event. The 32-year-old will serve as the designated hitter for the remainder of the weekend series.
The Dodgers say Ohtani will undergo unspecified knee interventions after the series to prepare him for the second half of the season.
