Chelsea have agreed to a four-year deal with former Real Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso to become the club's new head coach, according to reports.
The move comes as Chelsea look to rebound from a disappointing season that saw them finish ninth in the Premier League and lose the FA Cup final to Manchester City.
Alonso, 44, joins after a stint at Real Madrid that ended in January, but he previously won a league and cup double with Leverkusen in his first season as a head coach in 2023-24.
He becomes Chelsea's fifth permanent appointment under BlueCo ownership, following Graham Potter, Mauricio Pochettino, Enzo Maresca, and Liam Rosenior.
