World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz could fulfill a lifelong dream by playing on the turf of Real Madrid's Bernabeu Stadium. Madrid Open organizers plan to install a temporary clay practice court inside the iconic soccer venue from April 23 to 30.
The 22-year-old Alcaraz, who is a die-hard Real Madrid fan, has already won the Madrid Open in 2023 and 2024. The Bernabeu will serve as a supplementary training venue during the tournament, though training sessions will be closed to the public.
The Bernabeu's transformation into a multi-sport venue has been rapid. It hosted Spain's first official NFL game in November. The 2026 Madrid Open runs from April 20 to May 3.
