Former broadcaster Keith Olbermann has sharply criticized the White House for its post-victory taunt aimed at former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau after Team USA secured the men's Olympic hockey gold medal. The White House X account posted an image of an eagle attacking a goose, following the U.S. team's 2-1 overtime win against Canada. This victory marks the first men's hockey gold for the U.S. since 1980.
Olbermann, a vocal critic of former President Trump, deemed the action typical of the "Trump's Trash White House." The White House's post was reportedly a response to Trudeau's earlier remarks about Team Canada's performance. President Trump had congratulated Team USA on their win via Truth Social, exclaiming, "WHAT A GAME!!! LOTS OF WINNING!!!"

Jack Hughes scored the decisive overtime goal, securing the victory for the United States. Canadian goaltender Jordan Binnington made numerous saves throughout the game, but was ultimately unable to stop Hughes' winning shot.
