Chelsea interim coach Calum McFarlane stated the team is united and focused on their FA Cup semi-final against Leeds United, not dwelling on the recent sacking of manager Liam Rosenior. McFarlane, appointed interim coach for the second time, emphasized the squad's singular focus on Sunday's crucial match.
"We have got the group focused for Sunday," McFarlane told reporters. "It's important we have a real focus for the game on Sunday. We can't be thinking about anything else."
McFarlane confirmed he had a respectful conversation with Rosenior on the day of his dismissal, expressing his disappointment that their collaboration did not yield better results.
Chelsea will also be without winger Estevao for the remainder of the season due to a hamstring injury sustained in a recent league match. McFarlane confirmed the young Brazilian international's absence.
Despite an inconsistent Premier League campaign, McFarlane reiterated that the players are united and determined to finish the season strongly by aiming to win every remaining game.
