Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of Jake Paul's Most Valuable Promotions, is pushing back against critics who claim Ronda Rousey's comeback fight against Gina Carano was scripted.

Rousey defeated Carano by submission with a first-round armbar just 17 seconds into the bout on Saturday night at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. It marked her return to the Octagon after nearly a decade, her last fight being in 2016.

"If you think about it, why would anyone in our business fix a fight to last only 17 seconds?" Bidarian told Fox News Digital. "This was reality -- someone supremely prepared imposing her will."

Bidarian expressed disappointment for Carano, who he says put in significant training but fell into Rousey's trap. He also confirmed MVP MMA will continue, stating the brand is "working feverishly on the future."

Rousey's victory was the 13th of her career and the 10th to end within the first 70 seconds.
