Czech Republic manager Miroslav Koubek praised his team's mentality after their penalty shootout win over Ireland in the World Cup playoff semi-final.

The Czechs trailed Ireland by two goals early in Thursday's match but managed to draw level and secure victory on penalties. The comeback marked Koubek's first game in charge.

"The mental side - the commitment, the fight, the work they put into the match - was the biggest factor in our win," Koubek told reporters.

Denmark awaits in Tuesday's final in Prague. The 74-year-old coach expects Denmark to present a different challenge than Ireland, noting their technical strength and stable team philosophy.

"We want to be less nervous. We were nervous, we felt the moment, and we need to relax a bit," Koubek said. He emphasized wanting improved ball control compared to the Ireland match.
