Delhi Capitals head coach Hemang Badani praised veteran pacer Mitchell Starc as a role model after his match-winning 4-40 helped Delhi beat Rajasthan Royals by five wickets with four balls to spare at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The victory keeps Delhi's playoff hopes alive, as they sit seventh in the 10-team league, one point behind fourth-placed Punjab Kings with one match remaining.

"He is possibly one of the best role models anyone can have in sport," Badani said. "His work ethic, preparation, and training are above par. I don't see that even with a lot of the younger boys."

Badani also highlighted Starc's mentorship of Delhi's young bowlers, noting he constantly shares techniques on reverse swing, length control, and handling aggressive batsmen.

Making his IPL debut this season after recovering from shoulder and elbow injuries, Starc has played only five matches. On the high-scoring flat pitches, he emphasized the importance of staying level-headed. "You can't get too low or too high. As a bowler, you've got to put the ego aside because the scores can be inflated."
