Megan Jones has been named England captain for the 2026 Women's Six Nations, the Rugby Football Union announced. The 29-year-old center succeeds World Cup-winning skipper Zoe Stratford, who is expecting her first child.
Jones steps up from her vice-captain role during England’s dominant 2025 season, which delivered both a Six Nations Grand Slam and a World Cup title. She was also nominated for World Rugby Women’s Player of the Year.
“I’m buzzing to get back in camp with the girls for the Six Nations. I’ll just be the same old Meg and know I’ll have great support from Zoe, the leaders and the whole squad,” Jones said.
A two-time Olympian with Britain and England debutant since age 18, Jones will be backed by vice-captains Amy Cokayne and Alex Matthews-both with over 80 international caps.
England open their Six Nations campaign against Ireland on April 11.
