Barcelona manager Hansi Flick announced Tuesday he will extend his contract with the LaLiga club until 2028, following his team's 29th league title triumph.
Flick's current deal was set to expire in June 2027. The new agreement includes a one-year extension with an option for an additional season. Barcelona secured the championship after accumulating an insurmountable 91 points with three matches left, clinching the title by defeating arch-rivals Real Madrid.
The German coach, who recently lost his father on Sunday, expressed gratitude for the club's confidence in him and his staff. "They have given me and my team the confidence to work one or two years more," Flick said. "We go to 2028 and then we'll see if everything is right, and if so, we can decide on one more year."
