ROME, April 2 - Gabriele Gravina has resigned as president of the Italian soccer federation (Figc) after Italy failed to qualify for the World Cup for the third consecutive cycle.
Gravina, who led the federation since 2018, came under pressure following Italy’s penalty shootout loss to Bosnia and Herzegovina in a playoff on Tuesday.
The defeat marks another low point for Italian football, which has struggled to recover since missing out on the 2018 tournament in Russia.
