PARIS (AP) - Defending champion Coco Gauff was eliminated from the French Open by Anastasia Potapova, while world number one Aryna Sabalenka powered past Daria Kasatkina to reach the fourth round and secure her 100th career victory.
Gauff fell 4-6, 7-6(1), 6-4, unable to find her rhythm. Potapova, ranked 41st, sealed the upset in two hours and 37 minutes.
Gauff: "I had chances. I just couldn't finish the points."
Sabalenka, who defeated Kasatkina 6-0, 7-5, is now the ninth woman in WTA history to reach 100 top-level wins. She joins legends like Martina Navratilova, Serena Williams, and Iga Swiatek.
Sabalenka: "I've got goosebumps. It means the world."
In other action, Matteo Berrettini won a five-hour marathon against Francisco Comesana, and Naomi Osaka defeated American teen Iva Jovic. Potapova will face Anna Kalinskaya next.
