Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs was arrested Tuesday and charged with five domestic abuse-related offenses, including felony strangulation and suffocation. The arrest follows a disturbance complaint on Saturday morning in Hobart-Lawrence, Wisconsin.
Jacobs, 28, faces four misdemeanor counts: battery, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, and intimidation of a victim. He has retained legal counsel and denies all allegations.
The NFL and the Packers have acknowledged the matter but declined further comment. Jacobs, a three-time Pro Bowler, rushed for 1,329 yards and 15 touchdowns last season as a key piece of Green Bay's offense.
