Kolkata Knight Riders, the Indian Premier League's only winless team, are under pressure to see a return on their record $2.77 million investment in Australian all-rounder Cameron Green. The two-time champions sit at the bottom of the table with one point after their fourth consecutive loss.

Green, recruited to bolster Kolkata's title bid, has yet to perform. After recovering from a back injury, he managed only 56 runs in five innings as a batter. In their latest defeat, he conceded 30 runs without taking a wicket and was dismissed for a first-ball duck. Bowling coach Tim Southee acknowledged Green's slow start but expressed confidence in his ability to bounce back. The team is also hampered by injuries to key bowlers Harshit Rana and Akash Deep, and the unavailability of Mustafizur Rahman.

Despite these challenges, bowler Kartik Tyagi impressed with figures of 2-35. However, Chennai Super Kings still posted a formidable 192-5. Southee noted glimpses of potential in recent games but stressed the need for a complete performance to secure a victory.
