Pep Guardiola, Manchester City's manager, is not preoccupied with the Premier League title race, despite an upcoming crucial match against Newcastle United that could close the gap to two points behind leaders Arsenal. City, currently the league's only team with consecutive wins, anticipate the return of key players Erling Haaland and Savinho.

"Many things are going to happen until the end of the season," Guardiola stated. "I could not care less about the table. 12 games is an eternity. That's the only truth I have."

Haaland, who leads the league with 22 goals, is reportedly fit to play after a recent injury. Winger Savinho also returns after a seven-week absence due to a thigh injury.

Guardiola downplayed any advantage from City's past title wins, noting that "Seventy percent of the players are new so they don't have this experience." He stressed that current focus must be on immediate performance.

Separately, Guardiola addressed allegations of racist abuse faced by Real Madrid's Vinicius Jr., calling racism a pervasive societal issue beyond football. "There is a lot of work to do... racism is everywhere."
