DUBLIN, March 14 - Ireland defeated Scotland 43-21 at Aviva Stadium in a high-intensity Six Nations clash, securing a bonus point and remaining in contention for the championship title.

Both teams entered the match with title hopes. Ireland seized control after an explosive opening - Jamie Osborne scored inside three minutes, followed by tries from Dan Sheehan and Rob Baloucoune to build a 19-7 halftime lead.

Scotland fought back with tries from Darcy Graham, Finn Russell, and Rory Darge, cutting Ireland’s lead to five points mid-second half. But Ireland responded decisively: replacement lock Darragh Murray powered over for the bonus-point try, and Tommy O’Brien added two late scores to seal the 43-21 result.

The win extends Ireland’s winning streak over Scotland to 12 games and guarantees them at least the Triple Crown - their ninth since 1990.

Ireland now needs England to beat France in Paris to claim the title - a scenario that would mark England’s first win there in ten years.

"It's a rare day that we're cheering them on," said Ireland captain and Player of the Match Caelan Doris.

Ireland’s victory caps a dramatic campaign - both sides lost their opening matches, yet delivered one of the most compelling Six Nations weekends in recent memory.
