Five people are dead after their Cessna crashed in Wimberley, Texas, Thursday night. The victims, all part of the Amarillo Pickleball Club, were identified as players Hayden Dillard, Seren Wilson, Brooke Skypala, and Stacy Hedrick, along with pilot Justin Appling.
Amarillo Pickleball Club president Dan Dyer described the victims as excellent players who were heading to a tournament. A second plane from the same club landed safely in New Braunfels.
The NTSB and FAA are investigating. The cause of the crash has not been determined. The plane went down roughly 40 miles southwest of Austin around 11 p.m. in cloudy conditions.
Air traffic control audio revealed the plane began moving erratically before disappearing from radar. An emergency locator beacon was activated.
