India has advanced to the T20 World Cup final, moving one step closer to becoming the first nation to win back-to-back men's titles. They defeated England by seven runs in a tense semi-final.
The hosts posted a formidable 253-7, powered by Sanju Samson's commanding 89. Contributions from Shivam Dube and Ishan Kishan bolstered the score.
England's chase was ignited by Jacob Bethell's brilliant 105 off 48 balls, which threatened to overhaul the target. Despite Bethell's exceptional innings and a late push from Will Jacks, England finished at 246.
"It's not easy. You find form at the crucial games for your country. So I thought it's a big game, so I need to make the most of how I'm batting," said Samson, the player-of-the-match.
India's bowling attack, led by Jasprit Bumrah, managed to control the run flow in the crucial final overs.
India will now face New Zealand in Sunday's final in Ahmedabad, aiming for a record third T20 title.
