LOS ANGELES: Iran coach Amir Ghalenoei announced that US travel restrictions on his World Cup team may ease for their last group match. He criticized the treatment affecting their performance as the team commutes from Mexico while playing games in the US.
After facing Belgium, Iran's final match is against Egypt in Seattle. Ghalenoei revealed that the team will have greater travel freedom for this game, questioning why similar allowances weren't made for the previous matches.
The Iranian coach cited travel fatigue as a contributing factor to their recent draw against New Zealand, noting that inconsistent travel arrangements and last-minute changes have hindered preparation. With all teams in Group G tied, only the top two will advance to knockout stages.
