Jon Kemmer, a former Houston Astros minor league player and coach, has died at the age of 35. The incident occurred over the weekend in Galveston County, Texas, following a rollover crash.

Kemmer was en route to his home in Santa Fe, Texas, after coaching a travel baseball tournament in Houston. Authorities reported that his vehicle left the roadway and struck an electrical pole shortly after 6 p.m. local time. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Astros drafted Kemmer in 2013. He progressed to Triple-A by 2019, playing for affiliates of the Astros, Minnesota Twins, and Los Angeles Dodgers. His professional baseball career concluded after a stint in the Dominican Winter League in 2020.
