Goalkeeper James Trafford stated his return to Manchester City this season has not met expectations due to restricted first-team appearances. After a strong season with Burnley, Trafford rejoined the Premier League champions in July. He began the season as the starter but saw his role diminish following the signing of Gianluigi Donnarumma, with subsequent opportunities largely confined to cup competitions.

Trafford commented, "It has obviously been very up and down throughout the season because I haven't played too much and obviously I had a decision to make in the summer." He added that while decisions are made for the best outcome, this one did not prove to be so, but he has focused on daily improvement and maintaining a positive outlook.

Despite limited club playtime, Trafford made his England debut in March and aims for inclusion in the national squad for upcoming tournaments.
