BENGALURU, March 29: After retiring from T20 Internationals and Tests, Virat Kohli's focus on one format has revitalized his cricket career. The 37-year-old scored an unbeaten 69, leading Royal Challengers Bangalore to a six-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL opener.

"I always enjoy watching his batting from the dugout-the way he plays, the shots he picks, and how he reads situations," commented Bengaluru captain Rajat Patidar. "He's at his peak right now."

Kohli emphasized that playing a single format helps him stay mentally sharp, avoiding burnout. The team also honored the memory of those affected by a tragic stampede last year, observing a minute’s silence before the game.

Kohli believes breaks in his schedule have been beneficial, contributing to his successful return to the IPL after last playing for India in January.
