Montreal commuters can now hear NHL stars announcing metro station names, a new initiative by the city's transit agency to capture playoff energy. Players Lane Hutson, Juraj Slafkovsky, Jakub Dobes, and Alexandre Texier have recorded French announcements for stops near the Bell Centre, including Bonaventure and Lucien-L’Allier.

This campaign marks the first time the metro system has featured player voices for station calls. Transit spokesperson Laurence Houde-Roy stated the goal is to infuse everyday commutes with the excitement of the Stanley Cup playoffs and highlight the Canadiens' cultural significance in Montreal. The idea originated from a viral social media video featuring players in a metro setting.

The transit agency selected players based on availability, aiming for broader appeal despite initial hopes for more francophone players. Public response has been largely positive, with social media buzzing about the unique announcements. The initiative also complements a broader campaign displaying "Go Habs Go!" on city buses, a nod to fan culture and the team's strong connection to Montreal's identity.
