Lyon secured a spot in the Women's Champions League final with a thrilling 3-1 home win over holders Arsenal, sealing a 4-3 aggregate victory.
The eight-time champions started strong, taking the lead after a penalty was awarded when Melchie Dumornay was fouled in the box. Wendie Renard scored from the spot at the second attempt after the goalkeeper had saved her initial effort. Kadidiatou Diani then hooked home from a corner before halftime to make it 2-0.
Arsenal leveled the second leg in the 76th minute through Alessia Russo, who steered home a cross. The game seemed headed for extra time until Jule Brand latched onto a pass from Dumornay, scoring with a deft left-foot finish in the 86th minute to send Lyon through to their 12th Champions League final.
The final will be played in Oslo on May 23 against Barcelona or Bayern Munich.
