Kolkata Knight Riders secured a dramatic victory over Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League's shortest Super Over on Sunday. Requiring just one ball to win, Kolkata sealed the match after Lucknow tied the game with a final-ball six.

Chasing 156, Lucknow needed seven runs off the last ball of their innings. Mohammed Shami smashed the final delivery for six, forcing a Super Over.

However, Kolkata's Sunil Narine dominated the Super Over, conceding only one run. He dismissed Nicholas Pooran off the first ball and Aiden Markram on the third, limiting Lucknow to 1-2 in three balls.

Kolkata's Rinku Singh then hit a boundary off the first ball to secure the win.

The result lifts Kolkata in the standings, while Lucknow remains at the bottom of the table. Lucknow skipper Rishabh Pant acknowledged the team's need for a break and internal accountability after their fifth consecutive loss.
