Manchester City players have returned to training refreshed and ready after manager Pep Guardiola granted them a crucial three-day break. This respite comes amid a demanding schedule and a fierce Premier League title race.
City boasts a five-match winning streak across all competitions as they prepare to face Leeds United. The team aims to close the five-point gap on leaders Arsenal, who have played one additional game.
Guardiola emphasized the importance of mental and physical recovery, stating, "less is more." He noted that the schedule allowed for reduced training to ensure players "clean the minds and legs to come back better."
Winger Jeremy Doku has also rejoined training following a calf injury. Doku has contributed significantly this season with three goals and 11 assists.
Leeds United, currently 15th, recently secured draws against top-five teams Chelsea and Aston Villa. They previously posed a threat to City in November, before a late Phil Foden goal secured a win for Guardiola's side.
