The Sarnia Legionnaires have concluded their Greater Ontario Hockey League (GOHL) season with an unprecedented 0-50 record. The team's final game resulted in an 8-2 loss to the Elmira Sugar Kings, marking their 50th consecutive defeat.
Over the season, the Legionnaires scored 83 goals while allowing 341, resulting in a -258 goal differential. They finished last in the GOHL Western Conference. This marks the first time in GOHL history, established in 2007, that a team has failed to secure a single win.
This winless campaign stands in stark contrast to recent seasons, including a 17-win season in 2024-25 and a playoff appearance in 2023-24. The Legionnaires, a founding member of the GOHL, have historically been playoff contenders and were Western Conference champions in 2008-09.
