Ghana has appointed veteran Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz as the head coach of its senior national team, the Black Stars. The announcement comes just 72 days before the World Cup kickoff, following the departure of Otto Addo.

Queiroz, 73, brings extensive World Cup experience, having previously led Portugal, Iran, and Oman. He guided Portugal to the round of 16 in 2010 and coached Iran in the last three World Cup editions. His most recent role was with Oman.

The Ghana Football Association confirmed the appointment, citing Queiroz's proven track record. The Black Stars are set to compete in Group L, facing Croatia, England, and Panama.
