The Minnesota Vikings organization is in mourning following the death of wide receiver Rondale Moore. The 25-year-old was found deceased at his home in New Albany, Indiana, on Sunday. Authorities responded to a call Saturday night and found Moore at a residence. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. A post-mortem examination is scheduled.
"We are deeply saddened by the passing of Rondale Moore," the Vikings stated. The team has offered condolences and support to Moore's family and is providing counseling resources to players, coaches, and staff.
Moore joined the Vikings in 2025. Previously, he spent three seasons with the Arizona Cardinals after being selected in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He signed with the Atlanta Falcons in 2024 but missed the season due to a knee injury.
During his NFL career, Moore recorded 135 receptions for 1,201 yards with the Cardinals. Tributes have come from across the league, with former teammate JJ Watt expressing shock and sadness. The NFL Players Association also released a statement emphasizing player welfare and mental health support.
