Leicester City, a second-tier English football club, has lost its appeal against a six-point deduction. The ruling, upheld by an independent Appeal Board, deals a significant blow to the club's efforts to avoid relegation.

Currently 22nd in the Championship, Leicester sits one point adrift of safety in the relegation zone. The deduction stems from breaches of English Football League profitability and sustainability rules governing spending, which led to the initial six-point penalty earlier this year.

The club has accepted the decision and stated that its focus is now on the remaining five matches of the season and improving performance on the pitch. Leicester City previously achieved a historic Premier League title win a decade ago but was relegated last season.
