Real Madrid's star forward, Rodrygo, will miss the remainder of the season and the upcoming World Cup. The club announced Tuesday that the 25-year-old Brazilian international suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament and a torn outer meniscus in his right leg.
The injury occurred during Monday's 1-0 LaLiga defeat against Getafe. Rodrygo, who was returning from a previous muscle injury, came off the bench in the 54th minute. While attempting to accelerate on the left wing in the 66th minute, his leg became caught, leading to immediate signs of distress and the subsequent diagnosis.
Real Madrid's medical services confirmed the severity of the injury following tests.
